Criticism

Certain privileged beings possess the drawing, painting, and creating virus. Numerous are the artists who believed themselves to be immune to this formidable disease and then suffered a relapse, to their great delight, and of course ours. Alain Gendron noticed the symptoms while working in the artistic world at a very young age. And it was after a period of hiatus that a new and exciting commitment to his creative path was triggered. First, he was discerning enough to attend lessons at the School of Fine Arts in Rouen. This initiative, which was then strengthened by numerous participations in salons in Normandy and the region of Paris, was complimented by solo exhibitions. His well-affirmed personality won him many awards, and confirmed this painter’s brilliance. Alain Gendron henceforth used his experience and transformed it into works that are full of energy and vitality. The boldly sensual, fundamental drawing takes little heed of convention so as to better convey the expressive power within the works, which are sometimes sprinkled with a dose of witty humour. Motifs, landscapes, flowers, and characters are explored with the confidence of a talented and innovative artist. He unceasingly delves further into the visible world in order to better express the depth of the action, appeal, feelings and strong sensations he conveys. With tireless intensity, these quivering paintings capture and interpret a fascinating vision of reality.
