Criticism
In this profession consisting of expressing my modest analyses and opinions about artistic creators, there are sometimes certain observations that particularly fortify me as a result of an artist having successfully experienced the advice and mould of good quality teachers.
Look at Véronique Dabert: although her works are very personal and classy, she need not conceal her career path or the commanding reference to the uncontested names who managed to unleash her talent, even while preserving it from becoming a pale copy or of approximate originality. She perfected her skills under Bourquin, Sauvé and Penloup, developing a vital approach in which her mind’s subtleties are masterfully reflected on canvas.
Characters and compositions imagined by Véronique Dabert are therefore clothed in emotion and also a profound elegance thanks to the crucial pedestal on which her talent rests. The artist has participated in many exhibitions, including the excellent salon of the Society of Artists of Elbeuf Boucle de Seine, where she deepened her experience and expression.
With a judicious palette of warm and at times harsh colours, the artist describes her world boldly, strongly backed by her moods. Picturesque, dreamlike and sensual sequences are reproduced through her knowledge and sensitivity, which are defined as essential qualities of a contemporary reality.
